Is Newc free?
Yes, Newc is free while it's in beta on TestFlight. There are no ads.
Which devices does it work on?
Newc runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later. Suggested names, categories and summaries need iOS 26 on one of these: iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max, any iPhone 16 or iPhone 17 model, iPhone Air, an iPad with an M1 chip or newer, or iPad mini (A17 Pro). Scanning, reading text, search and everything else work on every supported device.
Where are my documents stored?
Only on your device. There's no account and no copy on our servers. You can export any document as PDF, JPG, PNG or HEIC whenever you want.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Scanning, text recognition and naming all run on your device, so none of them need a connection.
Which languages can it read?
English and many other languages, recognized on your device. Hindi is read on recent versions of iOS only.
Can I bring in PDFs or photos I already have?
Yes. Share an image or PDF to Newc from Files, Mail or any other app and it's read and filed like a scan.
